Trio of senior appointments at Doncaster Sheffield Airport
FlyDoncaster, the operator of Doncaster Sheffield Airport, has hired Andy Hudson as Head of Air Traffic Services, Kofi Yeboah asHead of IT and Sam Kind as Head of Finance. The new appointments complete the eight-strong leadership team, which is comprised of aviation experts focusing on the certification and operational readiness of Doncaster Sheffield Airport.
Andy Hudson joins the team from BAE Systems Warton where he held the position of Manager ATS for two years. He brings more than ten years of experience in the aviation industry, working in Air Traffic Control.
More than 50 people are currently employed by FlyDoncaster. Kobi Yeboah and Sam Kind have been promoted into their new positions, having already held roles as Interim Head of IT and Finance Manager respectively.
The new hires join the existing leadership team members: Wes Bunting, Head of Fire Rescue and Emergency Planning; Gary Winterman, Head of General Aviation & Cargo; Steve Allcoat, Head of Assets; Shane Berry, Head of Health, Safety & Fire Safety; and Dave Openshaw, Head of Security.

Activity on site has started to ramp up in recent weeks. The airport recently announced a procurement process for a Fixed Base Operator (FBO). FlyDoncaster is also working with numerous schools, colleges and universities to help to open opportunities for the next generation of aviation and travel industry professionals.
Hinchley added: βWe recognise the significant part this airport will play in creating employment opportunities now and in the future for people living locally. In fact, we know that already more than two thirds of our current staff team are from Yorkshire; comprised ofprevious staff and new team members from other airports. We will continue to expand our workforce in readiness for key milestones in the re-opening process.β
Backed by City of Doncaster Council and South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority, Doncaster Sheffield Airport is expected to generate Β£5bn for the regional economy by 2050.
