About Us

We are Fly Doncaster Ltd, a newly formed operating company set up to mobilise, reopen and manage the running of Doncaster Sheffield Airport. Established by the City of Doncaster Council, we are committed to establishing a top-class regional airport and maximising its potential to bring economic growth to the region.

The Airport

Doncaster Sheffield operated as a commercial airport between 2005 and 2022. Today this means the site already boasts an established terminal, several hangars and top-class facilities. Having this infrastructure in place, alongside an excellent proximity to transport links, makes it the ideal location for both passenger and commercial flights.

Airport City

More than just an airport; Doncaster Sheffield Airport are delivering a major regeneration project, developing an aviation community that will drive economic growth across the area and the North of England.

Doncaster Sheffield Airport sets new sustainability benchmark with independent EcoVadis assessments

Doncaster Sheffield Airport is set to undertake sustainability assessments across its physical footprint and supply chain as part of its drive to prioritise people, place and planet.

As work to re-open the airport continues at pace, the airport’s leadership team has agreed to work with EcoVadis, the global standard for resilient, sustainable supply chains, to conduct independent sustainability assessments across its supply chain.

EcoVadis evaluates companies’ ESG management systems across key criteria including environmental impact, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement. Alongside assessing the airport’s supply chain, EcoVadis will evaluate a range of aviation service providers such as ground handling and security services to help ensure compliance with environmental, social and workforce standards.

Steve Allcoat, Head of Assets, Capital & Engineering at Doncaster Sheffield Airport, said: “This work will help to underpin us a genuine leader in the UK aviation industry through its rigorous sustainability-led approach to supply chain management and onsite services.

“We’re committed to upholding the highest of environmental, social and governance standards across the airport. Working with EcoVadis to undertake these assessments is an important part of our commitment to operating as sustainably and responsibly as possible.”

Currently only a select handful of major UK airport operators have similar sustainability assessments in place.

“Doncaster Sheffield Airport is setting a great example for UK aviation by embedding independent, audit-ready measures and standards directly into its supply chain and onsite operations. Ensuring robust environmental performance and fair, safe workforce conditions on the ground requires transparency and continuous accountability. We are delighted to support DSA on this journey” said Pierre-François Thaler, co-founder and co-CEO of EcoVadis.
