Our experienced team is working tirelessly to put in place everything needed to reopen the airport as soon as possible. While some general aviation flight movements are already happening, we expect the volume of freight and cargo flights to increase from 2027 and passenger flights to commence in Winter 2027/28.
Doncaster Sheffield Airport has received £160 million in public funding from the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority (SYMCA) and the City of Doncaster Council to support its full reopening, including early operations and infrastructure costs.
The airport is located about 7 miles south-east of Doncaster, near to the village of Finningley. Its postcode is DN9 3GA.
Both commercial passenger flights, cargo flights and private jets will be able to operate from Doncaster Sheffield Airport.
Negotiations are underway with a number of operators. We will release details of these when they are agreed.
Yes, a wide range of new jobs will be created in order to staff and run the airport. These will include security, air traffic controllers, logistics, customer service and hospitality. Jobs will be recruited to at the relevant stage of reopening the airport. All jobs will be uploaded and promoted on this website on our Careers page.
Yes. We will be looking to work with businesses to provide services and products at the airport. More information can be found on our Supply Chain page.
Yes. There are a range of hotels and places to stay close to the airport and across the wider Doncaster area.
We are looking to establish a bus route that will stop at the airport. Taxis will also have access to the car park.
Parking provision will be made available for use by customers at the airport. There is currently a large 30-acre car park that will be reopened when commercial flights begin to operate. This will include EV charging points to charge electric vehicles.
Yes. The design and re-mobilisation of the airport is being done with a focus on accessibility for all. We will participate in the Sunflower Lanyard Scheme to offer extra time, care or support to passengers who may need it.
Yes, there will be access to the carpark to drop off and pick people up from the airport. There will be a charge linked to this access.
