About Us

We are Fly Doncaster Ltd, a newly formed operating company set up to mobilise, reopen and manage the running of Doncaster Sheffield Airport. Established by the City of Doncaster Council, we are committed to establishing a top-class regional airport and maximising its potential to bring economic growth to the region.

The Airport

Doncaster Sheffield operated as a commercial airport between 2005 and 2022. Today this means the site already boasts an established terminal, several hangars and top-class facilities. Having this infrastructure in place, alongside an excellent proximity to transport links, makes it the ideal location for both passenger and commercial flights.

Airport City

More than just an airport; Doncaster Sheffield Airport are delivering a major regeneration project, developing an aviation community that will drive economic growth across the area and the North of England.

High demand spurs further Airport ‘Meet the Buyer’ events

Businesses across Doncaster and South Yorkshire are being encouraged to take part in further ‘Meet the Buyer’ sessions, following overwhelming demand for the initial event linked to the reopening of Doncaster Sheffield Airport.

City of Doncaster Council and airport operator FlyDoncaster Ltd have confirmed two additional events will take place on 20 July (AM and PM sessions) after the initial event on 23 June reached capacity.

As momentum builds around the airport’s full reopening and the wider South Yorkshire Airport City development, a growing pipeline of supply chain opportunities is emerging. These span a wide range of sectors including construction, engineering, IT, logistics, facilities management, environmental services and professional consultancy.

The ‘Meet the Buyer’ events are designed to connect local SMEs and contractors directly with procurement teams, project leaders and delivery partners. Attendees will gain valuable insight into upcoming contracts, as well as guidance on tendering, training and accessing business support.

Mayor of Doncaster, Ros Jones, said: "The response to our initial ‘Meet the Buyer’ event has been phenomenal and clearly demonstrates the enthusiasm, ambition and capability of our local business community.

We are determined to ensure that no opportunity is missed, which is why we are hosting additional sessions in July.

The reopening of Doncaster Sheffield Airport is a transformational project for our city and the wider region, and it is vital that local businesses are front and centre of this growth. These events are about creating access, building connections and ensuring our local economy benefits for years to come."

The reopening of Doncaster Sheffield Airport is expected to generate significant economic benefits, including job creation, inward investment and long-term growth across South Yorkshire. Building a strong, resilient and locally embedded supply chain is central to delivering these outcomes.

Airport-related projects rely on a diverse network of suppliers, and opportunities extend far beyond aviation. As plans progress, demand will continue to grow through infrastructure delivery, operational services, cargo and logistics, digital systems and support services.

Dan Fell MBE, Chief Executive Officer, Doncaster Chamber, said: “Throughout the campaign to reopen Doncaster Sheffield Airport, much has been made about impact the airport will have on the wider economy. This event demonstrates that this is not just an abstract notion, instead there a multitude of bona fide commercial opportunities that South Yorkshire businesses can access by being part of DSA’s supply chain. Opportunities for businesses are available across a range of industry sectors covering areas such as infrastructure, technology, and services.

Businesses have generously lent their support to the airport campaign time and time again in recent years; this event provides an opportunity for them, in turn, to start accessing the benefits of our region’s reopening airport.”

Businesses interested in attending the sessions on 20 July (AM and PM) are strongly encouraged to register early to secure their place.

Due to continued high demand, a maximum of two attendees per business will apply.
