About Us

We are Fly Doncaster Ltd, a newly formed operating company set up to mobilise, reopen and manage the running of Doncaster Sheffield Airport. Established by the City of Doncaster Council, we are committed to establishing a top-class regional airport and maximising its potential to bring economic growth to the region.

The Airport

Doncaster Sheffield operated as a commercial airport between 2005 and 2022. Today this means the site already boasts an established terminal, several hangars and top-class facilities. Having this infrastructure in place, alongside an excellent proximity to transport links, makes it the ideal location for both passenger and commercial flights.

Airport City

More than just an airport; Doncaster Sheffield Airport are delivering a major regeneration project, developing an aviation community that will drive economic growth across the area and the North of England.

Doncaster Sheffield Airport hails ‘phenomenal’ response to consultation

The team behind Doncaster Sheffield Airport has revealed that the consultation around the airport’s Airspace Change Proposal (ACP), which closed at midnight on the 4th October, received 1,894 online responses, as well as more than a dozen postal responses.

The volume of responses makes the ACP one of the most engaged with airspace consultations in recent years.

Christian Foster, Director of FlyDoncaster Ltd said: “Over the past nine-weeks we have heard the views of thousands of people about our proposals. Engaging with industry, stakeholders and individuals around these plans is vital and we are very pleased with the phenomenal response rate.

“My personal thanks go out to the brilliant professional team who have been working on this ACP. Without their hard work and dedication, we wouldn’t have been able to expedite this process to the degree we have and generated such a strong and meaningful response to our proposals.”

In addition to the c1,900 official responses, the team behind the consultation also held five in-person events, which were attended by a total of 423 people. A number of webinars were also held, as well as an event targeting a general aviation audience.

Now that the consultation has concluded, the team will carefully review and categorise the feedback raised and produce a consultation response document. Feedback will be directly used to inform the next stages of the process, with an expected CAA decision on airspace due in Spring 2027.
