About Us

We are Fly Doncaster Ltd, a newly formed operating company set up to mobilise, reopen and manage the running of Doncaster Sheffield Airport. Established by the City of Doncaster Council, we are committed to establishing a top-class regional airport and maximising its potential to bring economic growth to the region.

The Airport

Doncaster Sheffield operated as a commercial airport between 2005 and 2022. Today this means the site already boasts an established terminal, several hangars and top-class facilities. Having this infrastructure in place, alongside an excellent proximity to transport links, makes it the ideal location for both passenger and commercial flights.

Airport City

More than just an airport; Doncaster Sheffield Airport are delivering a major regeneration project, developing an aviation community that will drive economic growth across the area and the North of England.

Airport preparing to tee off charity partnerships with golf day

DSA announces charity partnerships
Teams of budding golfers will be given the chance to join staff at Doncaster Sheffield Airport to raise money for two South Yorkshire charities.

The airport, which has recently passed the first two stages of the crucial Airspace Change Proposal (ACP) process as part of its re-opening plans, is to host a charity golf day on Monday 17 August at Styrrup Hall Golf & Country Club in Doncaster.

The more than 50 people now employed at Doncaster Sheffield Airport voted on the charities they want to support for the coming year - selecting The Eve Merton Dreams Trust and Mayflower Sanctuary.

The charity golf day will be the first FlyDoncaster Ltd charity event since the re-opening was announced. A total of 24 different golf teams, each comprising of four players, will be able to enter and participate.

Employees at Doncaster Sheffield Airport will plan in future events to raise vital funds for its two chosen charities over the coming 12 months.

Shane Berry, Head of Health, Safety & Fire Safety at Doncaster Sheffield Airport, is organising the charity golf day. He said: “We’re pleased to be supporting two brilliant Doncaster charities by hosting an activity for others in the area to get involved with and give back. Our ambition is to be the heart of the community and it’s great to be able to tee off with this first event.”

Christian Foster, Director at FlyDoncaster, added: “I’m delighted that we have two amazing local causes to get behind for the year, as voted for by our staff team. As we grow and build momentum, we’re keen to make sure that everybody here has chance to get involved with community initiatives. Working at Doncaster Sheffield Airport is exciting and rewarding and this is just one area we’re passionate about building into our culture.”

Martin Lawrence, of Eve Merton Dreams Trust, said: “As a charity, we are so incredibly proud to be connected to the Doncaster Sheffield Airport. We're very much a community charity, operating to help Doncaster families impacted by cancer, and the airport is at the hub of that community. We're excited to work closely with all involved and hope the airport's success can raise some valuable awareness of our work at Eves Trust and the positive impact we hope to have for many years to come. Thank you so much for selecting us to be part of this journey.”

Jennie Foxall-Lord, of Mayflower Sanctuary, added: “We’re incredibly proud to be supported by Doncaster Sheffield Airport as a charity partner. This partnership is a fantastic opportunity to bring the South Yorkshire community together through a wonderful calendar of events.

“The airport is a focal point for our region. By hosting these community activities rescue dogs and cats in our care are given a vital platform. Every bit of involvement from the public will directly help Mayflower Sanctuary.”
